Als kunstenaar ben ik begonnen met het verwerken van natuur- en fossielenthema's in mijn werk. Ook ben ik voor het eerst begonnen met digitale kunst en design. Dit is een nieuw avontuur voor een kunstenaar die gewend is aan traditionele media. Het is zo spannend om mijn ontwerpen terug te zien op producten zoals textiel en zelfs op mijn koffiemok!
Ik ben al 26 jaar leerkracht in Texas. Nadat ik digitaal kunst begon te ontwerpen, realiseerde ik me dat ik die nieuwe vaardigheid in het onderwijs kon inzetten. Ik ben begonnen met het ontwikkelen van lesmateriaal, waarvan veel die typische Texaanse sfeer uitstraalt. Mijn huidige grote project is een kleur- en activiteitenboek over fossielen uit Texas voor kinderen. Ik kan niet wachten om het met jullie te delen!
As an artist, I have begun to incorporate nature and fossil themes in my work. I have also started to create digital art and design for the first time. This is a new adventure for an artist used to traditional media. It is so exciting to see my designs on products like fabric and even on my coffee mug!
I have been a Texas classroom teacher for 26 years. After beginning to design art digitally, I realized that I could take that new skill into the world of education. I have begun to create educational resources, much of which continues that natural Texas vibe. My current “big” project is a Texas fossil coloring and activity book for kids. I can’t wait to share it with you!
