Welcome to StudyMama: Where Two Decades of Teaching Meets Professional Design
I've been in education since 2006. Nearly two decades of watching students struggle, succeed, and everything in between. I've worked in school, higher education institution, and international study agency, seeing education from every angle.
And here's what I learned: the materials matter.
I watched brilliant students fail because worksheets were confusing. I saw motivated learners give up because study guides were poorly designed. I noticed that the difference between "I don't understand" and "Oh, now I get it!" often came down to how information was presented.
Eight years ago, I made a shift. I started learning product design. If design could make websites intuitive and apps easy to use, why couldn't it make learning materials more effective?
I spent those years specifically focused on helping students improve their grades through better study materials and online learning tools. I learned user experience design, visual hierarchy, information architecture, all in service of one goal: make learning clearer.
Now, as a homeschool mom of two, I combine nearly 20 years of educational experience with professional design skills to create materials that actually work.
Every resource in my shop goes through multiple rounds:
1. Designed using pedagogical best practices
2. Tested with my own children
3. Refined based on what actually worked
4. Released when it genuinely supports learning
Nothing leaves this shop unless it meets the standards I'd hold for any educational setting I've worked in.
Oh, and I have two hobbies: cross stitch and Procreate drawing, so feel free to explore my other shops as well!
