Frequently asked questions

What exactly am I buying?

You're buying a downloadable HTML-based poster design tool that runs entirely in your browser. It includes the complete app (HTML, CSS, JS), 5 ready-made poster templates, access to ~60 built-in fonts, and full documentation. No subscriptions, no accounts — you own the files and can use them forever.

Do I need to install any software?

No. Just unzip the download and open the index.html file in any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari). There is no software to install, no sign-up required, and no command-line setup. It works on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Does the tool require an internet connection?

Only if you want to use Google Fonts (which make up most of the ~60 included typefaces). The fonts are loaded from Google's servers when you open the tool. If you stick to the 10 built-in system font stacks, the tool works completely offline.

What file formats can I export my posters in?

Four formats are supported:
• PNG — lossless, great for screens, slides, and social media.
• JPG — compressed, ideal for email or smaller file sizes.
• SVG — scalable vector with real text (Google Fonts are embedded).
• PDF — page-sized to your chosen dimensions and DPI, perfect for
sending to a print shop.

Can I create posters for printing?

Absolutely. The tool supports standard print sizes (A4, A3, A2, A1, US Letter, Tabloid, 18×24", 24×36") at up to 300 DPI. Export as PDF for the best print-shop results — the page size is set to match your chosen dimensions exactly. For large-format posters at 300 DPI, make sure your computer has enough memory for the high-resolution render.

Can I create posters for social media?

Yes. Built-in presets cover Instagram Post (1080×1080), Instagram Portrait (1080×1350), Story/Reel (1080×1920), and Web HD (1920×1080). Export as PNG for the best quality on screens.

Can I customise the fonts, colours, and layout?

Every aspect is customisable. Each of the three text sections (header, main, footer) has its own font, size, colour, weight, letter spacing, and alignment controls. You can also set the background colour, adjust padding, and preview your poster in a decorative frame. The main text
section additionally supports line-height control for tight or loose stacking. On top of the ~60 included fonts, you can add any Google Font on the fly using the "+" button next to each font dropdown.

What are the included templates and how do I use them?

The tool comes with 5 ready-made poster templates covering a range of styles — motivational quotes, minimal typography, and bold display layouts. Click "Import…" in the top bar to see them listed with thumbnails. Click any template to load it, then customise the text, colours, fonts, and sizes to make it your own. Some templates use specific Google Fonts; the tool will prompt you if a font needs to be added.

Can I save my work and come back to it later?

Yes. The tool auto-saves your work continuously to your browser — close the tab, come back tomorrow, and your poster is exactly where you left it. You can also export named .poster.json design files to keep a library of saved designs and import them back at any time. These files
are small, human-readable, and easy to share or back up.

Is my data private? Is anything uploaded to a server?

Your data is completely private. The tool runs 100% in your browser — no poster data, no design files, and no personal information is ever sent to any server. All files are local. The only external request is to Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) to load typefaces, which is a standard browser request. If privacy is a concern, use the built-in system fonts for a fully offline, zero-network experience.
