Stampa 3D per divertimento e un piccolo profitto
3d Printing for Fun and a Little Profit
Quasi dieci anni fa ho acquistato un kit per stampante 3D, l'ho costruito e ho iniziato a imparare a progettare le cose di cui avevo bisogno per poterle stampare. Nel tempo ho smesso di usare la stampante così tanto, ma funzionava ancora quando ne avevo bisogno (di solito con un po' di ricalibrazione dopo aver spolverato). Alla fine è arrivato il momento in cui la calibrazione e la messa a punto non erano più sufficienti per ottenere una stampa di successo ed è arrivato il momento di fare un upgrade. Ho acquistato una Prusa Mini e all'improvviso le stampe erano di qualità molto migliore e persino costantemente di successo!
Una volta superato questo ostacolo, ho iniziato a pensare che altre persone avrebbero potuto apprezzare alcuni dei miei oggetti o altre cose che avevo realizzato per me stessa, così ho aperto il mio negozio Etsy per condividere le mie creazioni e finanziare il mio hobby (o almeno giustificare l'ordinazione di forniture in grandi quantità).
A parte l'ingranaggio che porta tutto ciò che vendo, l'ho modellato/progettato da zero. Mi sono un po' allontanato dalla modellazione 3D perché io (o la mia famiglia) abbiamo avuto bisogno di altre cose, quindi altri tipi di oggetti potrebbero insinuarsi nel tempo.
Almost ten years ago I got a 3d printer kit, built it, and started learning to design the things I needed so I could print them. Over time I stopped using the printer as much, but it still worked when I needed it (usually with a bit of re-calibrating after I wiped the dust off). Finally it hit the point where calibration and tweaking wasn't enough to get a successful print and the time came to upgrade. I got a Prusa Mini, and suddenly prints were much better quality and even consistently successful!
With that roadblock cleared I began to think that other people might appreciate some of the fidgets or other things I'd made for myself, so I opened my Etsy shop to share my creations and fund my hobby (or at least justify ordering supplies in larger quantities).
With the exception of the gear bearing everything I sell I modeled/designed from scratch. I've branched out a little from 3d modeling as I (or my family) have needed other things, so other types of items may creep in over time.
