Highly recommended. As a complete weaving novice I did basic and intermediate classes in one day and so glad I did to get the in-person tips and skills from Maryanne to confidently continue at home.
I LOVE this loom. I've been looking for a loom this size for a while and I'm so pleased I settled on this one. I used a drill (though there's pre-drilled holes so I'm not sure a drill is necessary) and had it put together in less than 5 minutes. The wood is really high quality and hard and super smooth to the touch. I've also done Maryanne Moodie's online weaving classes and they're fantastic. This lady knows her stuff!
This is my second order from Maryanne, still great quality and careful colour palette selection, I was just hoping for a bump of the rust/orange roving as pictured in the ad instead of white which I already had. So I’m still searching for that colour…
I have made a few epic pieces now on this loom and I have to say that it’s most excellent! I love working this large; the pieces have so much room to evolve into fantastic details & evolution of movement. Be careful of the corner stabilizer pieces as there’s a spot where a screw should not go (even tho a hole is made); I cracked my top beam upon assembling due to this but Maryanne quickly sent me a replacement. When warped I could see how a middle stabilizer beam could be really helpful for the longevity of the loom as it does bow a bit thro the center; I may add this myself at some point. The wood itself is beautiful & smooth. The craft; stability upon assembly & warp knotches is very good. Overall I’m thrilled & would totally recommend this Statement Loom to fellow weavers. Hope this helps & happy weaving!
