Magical fair folk lie hidden inside the Jade Turbo - related to mermaids, they are shy gentle creatures. Perhaps you will see one deep beneath the waves or hiding in a rockpool, next to the periwinkles.

The original artwork was completed using Derwent Artist colour pencils and metallic pens on paper using a real Jade Turbo shell from my collection as a drawing reference. Actual Derwent pencils used for the original artwork include: Jade Green, Turquoise Blue, Kingfisher Blue, Raw Sienna, Venetian Red, Chocolate Brown, and more.


The Rockpool

Once I came upon a rockpool
quiet and still
sheltered from the waves
where little fish darted
and periwinkles clung

Strange plants grew
between polished pebbles
and hiding in a corner
something precious shone
in shades of green
and whorls of gold
- a treasure shell

And as I watched
a saltwater-nymph emerged
she smiled at me
and told me the secrets
of the sea

All 8x10 prints are carefully packaged and posted in a professionally manufactured Toughpak made from quality rigid cardboard to protect the artwork from bending (NOT sticky taped in between scraps of thin cardboard in a flimsy envelope!) Postage fees include packaging and handling costs.
