These black onyx stones are some of my shiniest tumbling batches ever! Each stone is natural and gorgeous, with a rich black color, bands of white, gray, beige, red, and/or orange, and fissures and etchings. See the photos and the below details about each specific stone to learn about what makes each stone unique. Mined in Brazil.
NEW! I now have FREE informational cards for these stones! They include the name of the stone, general mineral information, and metaphysical crystal properties. Limit one per type of stone in your order (example: if you order 2 blue lace agate stones, 1 rough ocean/sea/orbicular jasper stone, and 1 tumbled ocean/sea/orbicular jasper stone and request cards for each, you will receive 1 blue lace agate card and 1 sea jasper card).

Note: You may recognize some stones from the first batch of onyx I tumbled a few months ago. These are (what I now have listed as) Large - L; Small - D and H; Chips - Large - A; and one of the Chips - Small stones (second from left in bottom of "chips" photo). All other stones are from the second batch.
GENERAL MINERAL INFORMATION: Onyx is a banded form of chalcedony much like agate; the difference between the two is that agate has more chaotic, sometimes lace-like banding while onyx's bands are parallel to one another. Onyx is always (at least partially) black, often with white (or in the case of sardonyx, also red/orange) bands; anything labeled "onyx" that isn't black at all has likely been confused with banded calcite or agate. Onyx/sardonyx is the traditional birthstone of August.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES: good for the root/base chakra; excellent for protection and grounding; brings stability, creativity, self-confidence, and vitality; enhances will power and self-control
