Rare boxed Victorian 15ct gold and Bohemian art glass flower bracelet with box clasp

This is a superb Victorian jewel, from the late 1800s which is crafted throughout in stamped 15ct yellow gold. It is a double chain design which has a central flower section, with closed-back graduating round plaques all the way to the box clasp. The antique art glass used is similar to saphiret and such a warm dark plum colour. I believe it was created in what was then Bohemia, which was where much of the saphiret was also manufactured.

I adore not only the colour of these beautiful antique stones but also the fact that the glass has a matt appearance to its surface...it looks so rich and decadent against the buttery 15ct gold. I have never come across this exact glass before so it is rather a lovely find. The central flower is most likely a stylised forget-me-not, referencing the eternal nature of true love.  The central part of the flower (as you can see by the clever screw to the verso) is elevated slightly from the rest of the petals, giving it more of a 3D effect. All 17 stones are bezel-set in closed back settings. As is the nature of these foiled and closed-back settings, there are "veins" of shaded patterns visible below the glass within the settings. The box and tongue fastener is also 15ct gold and there is an antique English "15CT" plaque on the verso of the box clasp itself.

The diameter of the central flower is approx 2cm and the wearable length of the bracelet is approx 17.5cm ( a touch under 7 inches). It is fitted with a gold safety chain. In excellent condition and presented in what may well be the original antique, red leather satin and silk fitted case. There is a central fitting as if there may have been a matching brooch or otherwise, at one point. A gorgeously rare piece that looks so beautiful on the wrist, as you can see.
