Almost a Granny Triangle Scarf Crochet Pattern. Instant digital download.
Whilst browsing through my collection of scarf patterns I noticed that I really favoured the simplicity of cosy granny stripe ones. I really wanted one! The problem is that I live in Queensland and it’s far too warm most of the year to wear a scarf like that so I came up with a modified granny stitch - the Almost a Granny stitch, which has the same look but with less bulk - and I made myself a cosy looking scarf from a soft cotton yarn that I can wear from autumn through to spring.
You can wear it as a scarf, or as a shawl across your shoulders to keep the chill off on a cooler evening.
This pattern is a great portable project and easily adjustable to any yarn as you crochet from the centre of the triangle out and simply stop when you run our of yarn or reach your desired size.
With its simple geometric shape and easy pattern repeat, this pattern is perfect for trying with different colours, yarns and hook sizes for different effects and there are 2 different edging options included.
3 examples are shown at the end of the pattern for inspiration.
Also available in UK terminology - see Crochet Patterns section for UK pattern.
The pattern uses basic stitches suitable for beginners and has a soothing rhythm even an experienced crocheter will enjoy.
You'll need (to make example scarf):
