ABOUT THE BOOK
Leonard the lyrebird is friends with everyone, and boy can he sing! But will Leonard’s singing talents impress the one friend he really wants?
Set in the beautiful bush of the Blue Mountains, Australia, this story is about friendship, bravery and being yourself.
It’s first and foremost an Australian bush animal story – about Leonard and his quest to find a pal – and features landmarks in the Blue Mountains you may know, have visited or even live near.
Including a mix of prose and verse, it’s playful and meaningful with a bunch of fun sounds, and it has a bit of tension towards the end with cameos from a fox and the mysterious Australian Aboriginal mythical creature: the bunyip.
Whether you live in the Blue Mountains, you’ve visited before or you just love good Australian bush animal stories – Leonard the Lyrebird is the perfect book for the little ones in your life. Order your copy now!

Wonderful book, my goddaughter & fam adore this book & I cant wait to see it for myself. Jodie was so kind posting the very next day after purchase, so we could receive it before Easter, especially as we are all in isolation it was special for the family. Thank Jodie, cant wait for the next book
This book is beautiful and I have been told that my friend’s son adores it. I love that it’s clearly set in the Blue Mountains and allowed me to send a piece of my home to my friend and her son’s home, making it a great long distance gift. I’m excited for the next instalment in the series!
A wonderful book with gorgeous prose, beautiful illustrations, and a heartwarming tale of friendship. Our daughters have loved them and request them often as bedtime stories. The books have inspired further explorations of the Blue Mountains landscape, the flora and fauna of the area and of course the lyrebirds themselves. We have loved the books in our household and have gifted a set to the local preschool upon our youngest daughters commencement.
Gorgeous book. Beautiful messages throughout. Love it.
