Superficial - claims "No mater (sic) where you're at on your journey" but Info is v basic: press leaves between paper, add rusty objects, boil; they also give a few ideas for adding colour to the bath. This (& more) is all over the web. For post mordanting: "You might even choose to post mordant by tipping your bundles into a copper or cast iron pot along with the dye bath water." - that's it. I've only printed on paper a couple of times, but there's no info that's new/useful to me. Dye blankets, mordants, natural dyes, etc are ignored (and contrary to what BWC are saying, these are used with paper to great effect). Definitely for complete beginners who need hand held at every stage, & even then you'll outgrow this book after your first print. I requested a refund, but was declined. Steer clear, it's a money spinner only.
As stated in our email conversations, we are sorry that your purchase was not satisfying. We stand firm in our intention to provide a resource that makes eco-printing on paper an accessible medium for beginners and experienced dyers. Our framework for eco-printing is unique in the way it offers dyers to enter into a guided, co-creative exploration with materials for personal reflection. The value of this offering has been affirmed by both new and experienced dyers who appreciate the intentional approach to the creative process. This is clearly outlined in our T.O.C, available for viewing prior to purchase. Despite threats to review us poorly for not giving you a refund, which we would define as behaviour that is in breach of the Etsy code of conduct, we stand confidently by our disclosure of the product on offer.
This us my first paper print, inspired by your ebook. Thanks, lots of fun ahead
I have been ecoprinted in the past, this is a great little book for beginners like myself. I knew the basics before reading, BUT, picked up some great and no-guessing information. Every one has a preferred method but it never hurts to try. The price was perfect, downloaded this am and already made a boil with improved prints! Great job and don’t hesitate to learn, beginners or advanced. Kudos!
I highly recommend this thoughtfully written book, which is accompanied by gorgeous photography. It taught me new techniques I'm eager to try and, most importantly, reminded me to take the time to ponder the process of eco-printing and why I enjoy doing it so much. Ecoprinting is not just about wondrous and surprising results, but about celebrating a sense of place and one's own presence within in. Thank you!
