Tiny Star Square Crochet Pattern. Instant digital download.

I created this square after receiving my set of 56 balls of Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK. I wanted to make a fun single colour square with my tiny star as the star!

The Tiny Star is a single round 5 point star with a true star shape. To highlight this the Tiny Star Square pattern uses post stitches as rays of light which also lift the star up, making the centre pop.

There are also 2 size options for this square.
Stop at part 1 for a 13cm square or grow it with part 2 for a 17cm square.
My plan is to make one square in every colour of the Cotton DK and join them together into a starry rainbow throw, but this square would be perfect in a single or curated colour palette for a unisex baby or cot blanket.

Level: Intermediate / Advanced
The pattern uses a variety of techniques, including post stitches and the star stitch - though tutorial links and heaps of photos make it accessible for confident crocheters who are happy concentrating a bit more on a pattern and can follow written instructions.

You'll need:
Approx. 35 meters (38 yards) of DK weight yarn for part 1 and 50 meters (54 yards) through to part 2.
I’ve used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK for this square.
4mm & 4.5mm hook.
*You can use any yarn for this pattern with an appropriate hook though the finished size will vary.

Finished size:
Part 1: 13 cm square (5 1/8 in square)
Part 2: 17 cm square (6 3/4 in square)

Included in this 20 page PDF pattern:
62 tutorial photos
6 other photos (including a side by side of Part 1 and Part 2).
Links to 4 tutorials and full written instructions and photo tutorials for the special stitches like the star stitch.
American English crochet terms used throughout.
Crocheted in the round.
Clear concise written instructions with a layout designed to make it easy to follow and not lose your place.
Text only printable pages so you can print the pattern on just 1 or 2 pages reducing paper usage.
Landscape layout that looks good on a laptop, tablet or phone (simply zoom in on half the page on your smart phone to see the pattern clearly in portrait mode).

As a secondary school English and language teacher I have extensive experience in writing learning resources that make information more easily accessible for all. So I encourage confident/intermediate crocheters to give this a try. I am also happy to help if anyone is in need of any assistance with this pattern.

*Digital download pattern only. No physical object will be sent.
*Due to the nature of this item I cannot accept returns so consider your purchase carefully.
*You may sell items created using this pattern. Please credit Mikaela Bates - Vivid Kreations for the design and consider linking to this pattern if selling online, and please price your items with respect for yourself and other makers.
