'When the Earth Wed the Sky', from my Origins of Life series. A journey of finding my way home, discovering family, exploring culture and understanding identity.

Inspired by the Māori creation narrative. The Sky-Father, Ranginui and the Earth-Mother, Papatuanuku, lay blended together in the close embrace of matrimony. They mated and the children dwelt in the darkness of their embrace, until they were desperate for the light.

'When the Earth Wed the Sky’ has been painted on a professionally stretched linen canvas. With the sides painted, the back taped and strung, this work of art is ready to hang. This painting has been finished with a high gloss varnish and measures 91 x 61cm.
