I created this checklist because when I first started beekeeping🐝, all the inspection record sheets I could find were EXTREMELY utilitarian, little more than black print on a white background.📝 It was also hard for me to remember🧠 EVERYTHING I needed to look for and what it meant while I was inside the hive. I wish there was something like this available when I first started beekeeping, as it would've helped shorten my learning curve!📉

One of the most indispensable tools a beekeeper has at their disposal is their apiary records from the previous years.🗓️ Keeping this in mind (pun intended😉), I looked over my own records📜 from over the years and what other beekeepers were recording to create a comprehensive list of what goes on in beehives. The check boxes☑️ make it easy to record data when you are inside a hive (have you ever tried to write✍️ while wearing thick beekeeping gloves?!?), and are accompanied by a tip/explanation of what you see (it's nice to know if it's time to celebrate🎉 or intervene🔫, am I right?). Finally, there are reminders for basic beekeeper etiquette (the little ladies🐝 love it when you are respectful of them & their ways) and room for your own notes, if you're the studious, note-taker✍️ type like me.
