Many of our photos show the silhouettes in orange and brown tones. This is what the Corten steel looks like after it has developed a rust patina. We are not able to send out silhouettes pre-rusted, as the patina layer can be easily damaged in the mail. You can expedite the patina process by applying a solution of 4 parts white vinegar, 1 part hydrogen peroxide, and a bit of salt.

Unfortunately, we are not able to add names or engraving to the silhouettes.

You can apply a clear coat to the silhouette to protect the metal and prevent it from patinating. This can be found at almost any store that sells spray paint.

Each silhouette has one to two stakes that are 2-4 inches long. The stakes are built into the design and cannot be removed. If you'd like one without stakes, send us a message. Silhouettes made without stakes do have a longer processing time.
