An educational picture book that teaches children responsible pet ownership and a proper rabbit's diet through a heart-warming story of a rabbit named Eddie and his owner Hamish. Written and illustrated by me (Jacqueline Leung).
Why did I create this book?
After seeing many rabbits surrendered to rescues because of unknowledgeable owners, I believe that it is through education where we can tackle the root problem and instil a sense of appreciation towards animals, particularly rabbits, in people. And this should start at a young age! I am also a kindergarten teacher which helped me to create an engaging storyline that I know children would love!
Book excerpt:
Rabbits love carrots. Right? Eddie, Hamish’s pet rabbit sure does. That is all he will eat. Is it possible for a rabbit to eat too many carrots? What makes up a healthy diet for our furry little friends? The Rabbit Who Ate Too Many Carrots educates families about how to care for a pet rabbit’s health. Through humour and storytelling, Jacqueline Leung raises awareness about the responsibility of a pet owner. A fun and educational story for any children’s library.
The last 2 pages of the book contain information on 'what to consider before getting a rabbit' and 'a proper rabbit's diet'.
Book content is proof-read and supported by Dr. Gerry Skinner, founder of the veterinary clinic in Melbourne - The Rabbit Doctors.

5 out of 5 starsThis is a good book for parent's teaching themselves and small people that a rabbits diet should consist of primarily hay and carrot and other high sugar fruits and veggies only as a very small treat.
