This Mallard/Duck is a Lovely piece of Frankoma Pottery. It is probably a piece made after 1955 due to the Red Clay as seen on the Bottom along with its Back Stamp Frankoma 208A. The Frankoma Pottery Co. was founded and operated in 1938 by John Frank in the Southern Town of Ada, Oklahoma until 1955. John Frank was a Ceramic Professor at the University of Oklahoma 1927-1936. The clay in Ada was a Tan Color as seen on those pieces made there.. The Pottery Co. moved to Supupa in 1955 where the clay is red. The Frankoma Pottery Co. closed in1912 and has reopened in 1920 by another owner.
