Description

'70s does '50s - beautiful cream lace, ballerina length dress and jacket - it would make a gorgeous wedding dress.

The mid-calf length dress has ribbon shoestring straps, a fitted bodice and an under skirt of taffeta covered with a full circle skirt of lace. Closes at the back with a zipper (nylon zipper with a metal pull tab).
The jacket is sleeveless and gathers at the shoulders with drawstring ribbons, is elasticised at the waist and trimmed at the edge with ribbon. Closes at the front with one pearl button and a ribbon loop.
Nylon or polyester lace. There are no tags.
1970s.

Size - Small
Bust 83 cm (33")
Waist 64 cm (25.5")
Underarm to the waist 16 cm (6.5")
Centre front to the waist is 18.5 cm (7.5")
Dress length from top of the strap 114 cm (45")
Jacket length 51.5 cm (20.5")

Excellent condition. The dress is perfect. The elastic in the jacket waist has lost its original zing so is more full than it was originally. There is a small, faint mark on the front of the jacket.

FAQs

Rayon crepe, silk and velvet garments should be dry cleaned.
Generally, vintage garments should be washed by hand in gentle detergent and rinsed well. Squeeze gently.
Knitwear, heavy garments and lingerie should be dried flat if possible.
Do not tumble dry.
Lingerie and rayon crepe should be ironed underneath an ironing cloth or inside out. Rayon lingerie and silk are easier to iron when slightly damp.
Contact me for more care advice.
As clothing sizes are different in every country and vintage sizes are different again, I do not give sizes other than small, medium, large etc.
Measure yourself with a tape measure and check against the measurements given.
It's also a good idea to measure a similar garment of your own to compare the measurements.
How to measure yourself:
Bust - measure around the fullest part of your bust while wearing a bra.
Waist - measure around the narrowest part of your waist.
Hips - Measure the hips at the widest point.
Shoulders - Width measured on the garment from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.
Back - Measure across the back of a garment halfway between the shoulders and the underarm.
Sleeve - Length is measured from the top at the shoulder seam.
I am trying to reduce the amount of packaging used, especially plastic. If bubble wrap is necessary I am re-using used wrapping.
