5 out of 5 starsI can't express how thankful I am to have taken a chance and ordered from Elijah. The blanket is soft and warm and beautifully constructed.
It is Elijah however who has made all the difference in my purchase having gone out of their way to make certain that the purchase was as I expressed and that I was happy in ways I didn't even consider.
10 out of 5 stars!

5 out of 5 starsFABULOUS AND I KNOW CASHMERE!
I purchased the 2 ply cashmere asymmetric poncho. I buy/ wear lots of cashmere/wool/alpaca items as I am always cold. I considered ordering the 4 ply poncho as I thought the 2 ply would be too thin or see through. It is NOT either. Very substantial weight, lux feel. Cut is flattering not too long. I am petite - size 2 and 5’4” and the pic shows how it falls on me. Elijah is the nicest seller I have met on Etsy. Will buy again. You will not regret this purchase. -

5 out of 5 starsThis is fantastic - it's very warm and yet at the same time extremely thin cashmere - perfect for travelling and going to friends - so will fit in a bag - but if you get chilly - out it comes. Many thanks and great service too.

Market Day
Our Cashmere Story & how we started
Filled with passion and dedication for fashion and Cashmere, Alchemy Story has been a dream project for me and is dedicated to my mom. I always dreamt of bringing Cashmere and natural fibers products to the next level and Alchemy Story is the first step towards it. The beauty of handloom lies in dedication and patience craftsman puts onto it and still work of knitwear and handloom are always underrated and underestimated. Through Alchemy Story, I want to highlight and show the world the untold story of natural fiber and handloom products, produced from creativity, dedication, and skill, while broadening the market.
We source our cashmere and natural fibers in an ethical manner, giving our manufacturers a fair pay, fair working conditions and an ability to do their job well. Our ethical way of doing business puts people and the environment in the center. It means treating everyone everywhere with respect. Through our work, we want to give local artisans in developing countries opportunities to make their own living and through their work empower and lift up their communities. That is why all of our products come from small producer groups from the land of the Himalayas. We are specialized in producing fabric/textile made out of different natural fibers and cashmere. These yarns are well chosen and are bought from well hand processed suppliers in order to make sure that the fabrics come out finer when woven in our factory. We focus on Customer Satisfaction in delivering quality goods within the time constraint. We partner with an NGO in Nepal called “ROSE NEPAL ( REANIMATION OF SILENT ECHOS)” to source natural handloom cashmere fabrics. Rose Nepal is a charity that teaches less fortunate people of Nepal how to produce handloom products and then fairly compensates them as employees once they have become proficient at the trade.
Our motive highlights delivering products in a simple, qualitative and enjoyable way, enhancing handloom products from the finest quality fibers. We emphasize the best quality natural dyes to ensure the best results and to introduce products which are rare and precious. We don’t compromise on quality. Alchemy Story is an Australian brand with sole motive to make difference in fashion with natural fibers. Bringing better opportunities to local artisans and supporting growth in the developing world requires a lot of effort, as does reaching the needed, steady customer base. alchemystory.com was built to offer empowering brands a common platform that consumers can trust.

How to wash Cashmere products ?
We would recommend you to the dry clean. However, It is an option, there is really nothing to be scared of if you choose to clean your beloved cashmere yourself. Avoid washing it in very hot or chilly water as it can cause shrinking. Always use lukewarm water and mix a delicate shampoo solution. Do not bleach Cashmere Products as it can affect its softness.
Avoid twisting or squeezing your cashmere. You must never place it in a clothes dryer. For drying, spread the cashmere on a drying rack. Do not hang it as it can cause the fabric to stretch. Do not dry your soft and delicate product in direct sunlight and heat. Allow it to air dry. While ironing, place the cashmere between two towels and gently iron the
wrinkles away.
If I order 8 ply or 10 ply , will I receive thicker products ?
Ply represent the amount of cashmere in the product. Cashmere is a very delicate and light weight fabric, it is almost impossible to weave it without blending it with other fabrics.
When you buy 8 ply or 10 ply , thickness of the product won’t increase but cashmere percentage in the product is almost 100 percent as a result product will be more smoother, light weight and more warmer.
How to take care of Cashmere Products ?
Cashmere is not an ordinary piece of clothing. It is so soft, delicate, warm, and beautiful to wear that one wants to preserve it and pass it on to generations. But cashmere is extremely sensitive and requires proper care and handling. With adequate care, a Cashmere will retain its natural beauty over decades.
Avoid wearing the same cashmere product every day. Allow it to rest for 2-3 days after wearing it once. Do not wear your soft and delicate cashmere scarves and shawls next to rough clothing, metal jewellery, and rough leather as it can cause pilling. Pilling is normal due to regular wear. To remove pills, pick them up with hands. Do not brush or rub your sensitive cashmere scarves.
From where we source our Cashmere ?
We source only the finest of cashmere from “Capra hircus”s the most remote regions of Himalayas and live approximately 14,000 feet above sea level, these special goats grow a thin, inner coat of hair that insulates them during the long, harsh Himalayan winters. It is this unique inner coat of hair that is used to produce cashmere. Each hair is about 1/6th the diameter of most other types of hair – but is still surprisingly durable while being stunningly soft and comforting to human skin.
Why Cashmere is expensive ?
Cashmere is luxury, extravagant and valuable due to fact that it takes the entire annual growth of three of these goats to create just one cashmere scarf. Cashmere, we used to be are naturally shredded and no goats are harmed during the process. In a way, we can say special cashmere wool is the goats’ gift to everyone. And what an amazing gift it is!
What is nettle fibre ?
Nettle Plants have been used for centuries as a fiber source. It is an excellent material, and due to the limited treatment, the best qualities of natural fiber. Nettle softens in use it keeps you warm in the cold and does not make you hot and sweaty in warm weather. Nettle scarves do not irritate the skin or make it itch. Instead, the warmth of the skin softens the fiber, so the more you use it, the softer it gets.
The Fiber comes from the stem, and it is very long and strong, similar to ramie. After cutting the stem, the bark is removed and peeled and fiber is extracted.
We source our nettle fiber products from the Himalayan mountain villages in Nepal.
