Alice se formó originalmente como perforadora en Camden, Londres, pero en 2013 tomó una clase de fabricación de joyas y desde la primera lección quedó enganchada.
Comenzó a vender piezas en línea en 2014 y, desde entonces, encontró su verdadero amor en la talla de cera y el trabajo con oro macizo reciclado. Suele crear a altas horas de la noche, con velas encendidas e incienso, y considera que crear joyas es una forma de meditación.
Actualmente trabaja a tiempo parcial en Alice Ruby además de ser madre de tres niños pequeños, pero su pasión aún arde por crear diseños ilustrativos inspirados en el simbolismo y el misticismo moderno.
Diseñando para los amantes y soñadores del mundo, cada pieza de Alice Ruby se crea utilizando el proceso de fundición a la cera perdida que se originó hace 6.000 años y permanece prácticamente inalterado hasta el día de hoy.
Cada pieza está tallada a mano meticulosamente y si miras de cerca puedes ver la marca de la mano y las herramientas que las hicieron. Creemos que esto es lo que hace que Alice Ruby sea tan especial.
Alice originally trained as a piercer in Camden, London but in 2013 she took a jewellery making class and from the very first lesson she was hooked.
She started selling pieces online in 2014, and has since found her true love in carving wax and working with recycled solid gold. She usually creates late at night, with candles lit and incense burning, and finds creating jewellery to be a form of meditation.
She now works part-time on Alice Ruby alongside being a mother to three small children, but her passion still burns for creating illustrative designs inspired by symbolism and modern-day mysticism.
Designing for the lovers and the dreamers of the world, every Alice Ruby piece is created using the lost wax casting process which originated 6,000 years ago and remains largely unchanged to this day.
Each piece is meticulously hand carved and if you look closely you can see the mark of the hand and tools that made them. We believe this is what makes Alice Ruby most special.
