5 out of 5 starsThis is beautiful, and so unusual. Feels quite solid and secure to wear, and I love the uniqueness of it. I think it took about 19 days to arrive ??but I expect delays in the current climate; and anyway the delivery time doesn't matter because it is so worth the wait. Thank you

Bringing more beauty into this world... what better way to spend one's life!
My life as a textile artist began in the early 90s' with the rescuing of boxes of interior textiles destined for landfill. I couldn’t allow these exquisite materials to be buried; my mission was to ‘recycle’ them into some form of artistic expression! Giving new life to ‘retired’ textiles is at the core of my creative endeavors.
Subsequent overseas travel led me to discover the beauty of antique and vintage textiles from around the world, many hand stitched and used for special occasions, such as weddings and religious ceremonies.
In more recent years I've been exploring the design and creation of contemporary jewelry . With my love of textiles I can't help but incorporate them into my jewelry pieces.
Every artwork and jewelry piece has been individually designed and crafted. Textiles, organic materials, photographs and decorative papers are layered and intricately embellished throughout with metallic and coloured threads, wire, beads and sequins.
Over the years I've held numerous exhibition and workshops. If you would like to know a little more, please visit my web-site www.artoftextile.com.au
Technique.....
Textiles, photographs (my own) and decorative papers are layered and adhered to watercolour paper or canvas using acid free adhesives (no stitching). The metallic and coloured thread embellishment that appears in all my works is a technique developed in the early days of experimentation - it protects the edges from fraying and adds beauty and sparkle to the work…and who doesn’t love a little bit of sparkle in their life!!!

Since the early 90s I have created mixed media art from textiles, and in more recent years I've explored ways to incorporate these gorgeous textiles into jewelry. My desire is to create contemporary art & jewelry that expresses beauty & harmony!
