Hi 👋🏻 I'm Ollie, a Co-Founder of Badgie!

Let me tell you how this all started...

I work as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic in Melbourne, Australia. Recently, my boyfriend Locky and I moved to the outer suburbs of Melbourne... an area that I wasn't very familiar with. During a day at work, when I was at my new local hospital, I thought to myself, "I wonder if this area, and this hospital, are LGBTQIA+ friendly?"

The next thing I noticed was a nurse walk past me... and something about her took my breath away. She had a tiny rainbow pride flag sticker on her name badge.

This immediately made me feel safer. I felt like it was safe... to be me.

I searched high and low to find a tiny pride flag sticker to put on my name badge... but couldn't find them anywhere. They were all too big, or made of paper, which meant they wouldn't last.

So I created my own sticker for my badge. A tiny, 3D dome sticker from paper and an epoxy resin.

It was PERFECT.

Weeks went by... and people kept asking me where I got my sticker. I shared them around with my colleagues... and realised that people loved them.

Then it was time to test if the world wanted them too. So I filmed a TikTok video of me approaching a random nurse, and offering her a pride flag sticker for her name badge.

Overnight it got 4.2M views.

It was time to create a brand to sell the stickers online... and this is when Badgie was born.

I spent the next few weeks (with hardly any sleep) making more stickers, building a website and preparing to go live.

And here we are today, with over 2,000 orders to customers around the world, 50K followers and 1.3M likes on TikTok. My favourite thing about the community we are building is how dedicated our customers are to doing anything they can to create a safer and more inclusive environment for staff, customers and patients.
