Hi 😊, my name's Barb. I live in Tasmania, the picturesque Island state of Australia. I've been working with hot glass for about 20 years now.

I inherited my passion for art in all its forms from my Mum and spent the first half of my life as a successful Landscape Painter but dabling in many other mediums. I have been enchanted by glass for as long as I can remember, especially glass as art because it has the quality of flow solidified as a moment in time frozen forever. I try to capture that feeling of flow in many of my pieces.

When torchwork/lampwork came on the scene I took it up as a hobby. When I was young I never dreamed I'd get the opportunity to play with molten glass, it seemed way out of my reach! Once I started playing with glass I quickly became addicted because of its incredible beauty and because no other medium is as exciting or challenging to work with! I love the excitement and stimulation of learning new skills and experimenting with new techniques and I love the fact that the glass work community is always coming up with new materials and ideas!

Where possible I use only the finest Quality glass and raw materials sourced from Europe and America because I believe that like with cooking you have to start with the finest ingredients to get the best results.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it! 😊
