Some cute new little additions to the end of our chains blush lots of new pendants coming online in the next week or two (sorry for the delay!)
I love the deep earthy red colour of the Jarrah.. I found this lovely wavey piece as my partner was chopping up wood for the fire.. I think I put it to a much better purpose blush
I love working with this amazing timber, Northern Silky Oak.. The timber is genuinely silky haha!

Unique pendants inspired by nature.

It all started when I was walking from my car to the office. In the native bush surrounding my work I came across the most gorgeous small Banksia cone and fell in love with its beauty. At the same time my dad had retired from full time work and I wanted the possibility of an income for the both of us that would incorporate our passions, jewellery and native timber. After a lot of googling, trial and error, and utilizing my dads carpentry and wood turning experience, we came up with the jewellery that is Blue Banksia.

The Banksia is a plant that can take many forms from a ground creeper to large tree's with 170 species. These Australian wildflowers are recognized by their beautiful flower spikes and fruiting "cones" and heads. They are heavy producers of nectar and are a vital part of the food chain in the Australian bush.

I have grown up in the Perth hills and spent my childhood playing in the bush. My mum was always pointing out plants and telling me what bird song went with which bird. My parents built their house and I was surrounded by beautiful timber that my dad had crafted into a table or turned into a bowl. At a young age I went on Ranger days where we caught tadpoles and identified bugs. In my teenage years I loved art and being creative but when it came to decide what I would do when I left school, I chose science. I found it had the combination of what I loved, nature and creativity. Over the years things changed and even though I still loved science, I yearned to be more creative and have more flexibility. I started making pendants and found my days at work were filled with daydreams of jewellery. This is when I decided that I wanted to do this full time and started working towards that goal.

My dad cuts all the wood in his workshop and this is where I sand the pieces into shape. In my studio at home after fine sanding and a final finish with varnish or resin a pendant is created. I have always worn silver jewellery and loved the idea of making the chain myself, which also gave me the freedom of creating the ideal length that suited each pendant.

I have tried to be eco-friendly in all I do, and as I get older and start my own household, the passion has grown. In my day to day life and in the jewellery I make, I strive to be as eco-friendly as possible. Nature is such an amazing thing and I am passionate about its protection.

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

Resin - Should the pieces get dirty or attract fingerprints, wipe lightly with a mild detergent and water solution and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. The resin is UV-resistant and will not yellow, but it is probably not best to have your pendant in direct sunlight (for example hanging in a window).

Timber - As much as possible don't get the pendant wet. The timber has been polished with a natural wax and has not been sealed, so water may cause the timber to expand or discolor.

Sterling Silver - Clean your silver jewellery with a mild soap and water solution, allowing the water to bead up, and then patting dry with a soft cloth. For more stubborn dirt, use a cleaner designed for silver use.
