Unique hand printed textiles, homewares and contemporary art.

Ink Object is a creative studio operated by artist and designer Carla Dawes based in Alstonvale NSW, Australia. The studio produces hand printed eco-friendly fabrics, contemporary artworks and homewares all based on a sustainable and ecologically sound philosophy.

Designs
My designs are inspired by my love of Australian flora, fauna and our incredible landscape.
Northern New South Wales has been home now for 20 years with its beautiful pristine coastal beaches surrounded by a lush green hinterland, it's an endless source of inspiration.

All of my designs are either hand drawn, painted or handcut out of paper to achieve various fabric patterns, then hand screen printed onto fabric and made into homeware collections hand sewn by me or locals in area.

Environment and lifestyle
It’s important that what I do and what I produce is ethically and environmentally responsible for future generations. Where ever possible I source sustainable and eco-friendly materials to print on. My base cloths include a sustainable hemp and cotton blend and 100% linen. I use water based, solvent free fabric inks that are mixed by me in my studio.

I really love the fact that our consumer trend is to choose a lovely handcrafted item over the sweatshop mass-produced item. Well in my circle of friends anyway! That’s why I feel it’s really important to pass on the knowledge by offering a variety of classes that feature art, textiles and screen printing to cater for all ages. My aim is to inspire with fun and creative design in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

    I'm an artist, printmaker and designer with qualifications from Southern Cross Uni in Visual Art. I work out of my studio located in Northern NSW, Australia. My creative world is inspired by travel and my love of everything handmade.

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns and exchanges
Contact me within: 14 days of delivery
Dispatch items back within: 30 days of delivery

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
I do not except refunds unless the goods are faulty or damaged.

All orders are carefully checked and packaged to ensure a safe delivery, in the event that you receive an item that is faulty or damaged, please contact me within 24 hours to arrange a refund or replacement.

Unfortunately once posted I do not accept responsibility for lost or damaged parcels, but I do offer insurance at an extra cost.
Payment
All prices are in Australian dollars. Online prices may be subject to change without notice and may differ from prices available in retail outlets.
Delivery
For Australian customers, items are posted within 2- 5 days of placing your order using Australia Post.

For international customers I use Australia Post Registered Service.
If you would like postal insurance, please let me know via email so the rates can be applied to your order.

Please note, Once posted I cannot guarantee delivery times. If an order does not arrive within a reasonable time please contact me and I’ll do the best I can to track your item.

Care Instructions
Gentle hand or machine wash. Air dry and iron on reverse side of print. Please do not bleach, tumble dry or Dry clean.

At the Ink Object studio each piece is printed by hand resulting in slight variations in markings and colour, making each piece totally unique!

While I aim to display each item as accurately as possible on my website, the actual colours you see will depend on your computer monitor or printer. I cannot guarantee that the display of any colour will exactly reflect the colour of the item on delivery.
