Crediamo che la bellezza sia fatta per essere toccata.
Le porcellane migliori vanno il martedì. Il lino diventa più morbido quando viene lavato. Il legno ricorda le mani. Il ricamo ricorda il tempo. Una casa non si decora, si vive.
Still Life è nato da una semplice frustrazione: abbiamo confuso la conservazione con la cura. Conserviamo le cose finché non c'è più nessuno che le utilizzi. Mettiamo da parte le cose per occasioni che non arrivano. Questo negozio esiste per rimediare a tutto ciò, un cesto alla volta.
Ogni pezzo è selezionato e assemblato a mano: oggetti vintage reperiti nel corso degli anni in mercatini dell'usato e vendite di proprietà, abbinati a ricami originali laddove richiesto. Nulla qui è prodotto in serie. Nulla qui è destinato a rimanere in un cassetto.
Sono Bethany, di professione stratega nel settore sanitario, ricamatrice e curatrice per passione, e da oltre un decennio dedita alla collezione di oggetti che rendono una tavola degna di essere apparecchiata. La mia famiglia ha radici croate lungo la costa adriatica, e questa eredità, fatta di tessuti, di tavola, della convinzione che la vita domestica meriti vera attenzione, permea ogni cosa che creo qui.
Una tovaglia non è preziosa perché viene conservata. È preziosa perché qualcuno si è seduto sopra.

The good china belongs on Tuesday. Linen becomes softer when it is washed. Wood remembers hands. Embroidery remembers time. A home is not decorated, it is practiced.
Still Life began with a simple frustration: we have confused preservation with care. We save things until there is no one left to use them. We set things aside for occasions that don't come. This shop exists to undo that, one basket at a time.
Each piece is curated and assembled by hand: vintage objects sourced through years of thrifting and estate sales, paired with original embroidery where the piece calls for it. Nothing here is mass-produced. Nothing here is meant to stay in a drawer.
I'm Bethany, a healthcare strategist by profession, an embroiderer and curator by long practice, and someone who has spent over a decade collecting the kind of objects that make a table worth setting. My family carries Croatian roots along the Adriatic coast, and that inheritance, of textile, of table, of the belief that domestic life deserves real attention, runs through everything made here.
A tablecloth is not precious because it is kept. It is precious because someone sat down.
