I make pretty things all day!

I consider myself very lucky to be doing exactly what I want to do. I make pretty things all day! Every day!

My fascination and obsession with fabric began just over 7 years ago when I taught myself to quilt. When after all my friends and family had received a quilt I made as a gift I sought out online venues where I might be able to sell them since I knew I wasn't going to stop making them. A simple Google search for "selling handmade quilts" led me to Etsy and I opened up shop 5 years ago as SFOQuilter. A few years into the business I expanded my product line to include pillow covers that coordinated with the quilts and that's where the story of Festive Home Decor really begins.

Literally overnight, while researching pillow covers, I became enamored with the range of available home decor fabric that I had never explored as a quilter. The patterns, the colors, the textures....I was hooked. I opened a second Etsy shop to focus exclusively on pillow covers in June 2010 and stocked it and made it ready for selling on Halloween day of that same year. It's been a blast ever since.

In March of 2012, after 18 months of learning and growing this business, and with the support of a wonderful partner, I decided to quit my day job as a technology marketing executive and have Festive Home Decor be my one and only job. When we relocated from California to Las Vegas my friends jokingly referred to my "early retirement". Not so much. I am working more and harder than I ever have before and I love every second of it.

Today, I stock over 400 different fabrics from several manufacturers and I am constantly on the lookout for new additions to the lineup. Evolving the shop and the business is what makes every day interesting! I recently added a commercial embroidery machine to my arsenal of equipment and am thrilled to be offering monogrammed pillows for a personal, unique touch.

Without a doubt, the best part of all of this is hearing from customers about how what I make for them has transformed their spaces and homes. I love receiving photos of colorful bedrooms and updated living rooms. I even get sent photos of their dogs relaxing on new dog bed covers:)

My pillow covers are made to fit standard size pillow forms, for example, to fit a 20 x 20 inch form or insert, the pillow cover will be approximately 19 x19 to ensure a snug professional fit. This is an industry standard and also takes the guesswork out of deciding what size pillow insert to buy.

Each listing recommends the correct pillow form/insert size that you should purchase and does NOT reflect the final size of the covers. All of the 20 x 20 covers in my shop finish at 19 x 19 inches, as an example, and are pictured on a very plump 20 inch down pillow. In this example, when I refer to a 20 x 20 pillow insert, I mean one that is purchased and labelled as 20 x 20 (or it has tags that say 20 x 20).

MEASURING YOUR OWN PILLOWS? This can be tricky and actually causes 99% of all issues with accurate pillow cover sizes. ( Every order we make twice means our small business has lost money since we order fabric and hand make just for you. Thank you so much for ordering careful!)

If you are recovering pillows that do not have tags you will need to measure them. To do so lay the pillow on a flat surface and squish down as flat as possible. Then measure with a ruler or measuring tape from the left edge to the right. Please use the following chart to ensure you order the correct size cover.

Returned items marked FREE SHIPPING are subject to a refund minus the actual shipping cost incurred by the seller.

All decorative pillow covers are being discontinued and are final sale. We are no longer accepting returns or doing exchanges. Fabric selection may be limited and many prints are being discontinued. We apologize in advance if we can not complete your requested order.

Please be sure of color choice and size before ordering. We are happy to send complementary swatches if necessary.

All sales are FINAL for monogrammed and personalized items. I do not offer refunds nor exchanges unless I have made an error. Please read each listing carefully and provide ONLY the information requested to complete the monogram (letters from left to right). If you provide your full name or your name initials it may be confusing and cause delays in your order being completed. If your listing includes a proof it is your responsibility to ensure it is 100% correct. I can not replace nor remake items that are incorrect after the proof approval. Thank you for understanding.

Any reports of breakage or damaged items must be brought to my attention within 3 days of shipment.

Please bring any concerns to my attention immediately after receiving your item. Your satisfaction is very important to me.
Payment
I accept both Paypal and credit cards. Any deposits made on custom orders are non-refundable.
Shipping
I ship to the address you provide at checkout. Please ensure that your shipping address is correct and entered properly at the time of order. I can not responsible for the lost packages as a result of incorrect shipping addresses.

For pillow covers I use USPS First Class and the postage fees include Delivery Confirmation so that we both have tracking information on the package. Multiple purchases from 2 pair and up receive Priority Post shipping.

NOTE: International orders can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks+ depending on location. This includes shipping to Canada. This is an extreme case and rarely happens but the main point is that you should allow plenty of extra time to receive your covers as items are often held in customs. Also note that Priority International tracking ends when the package leaves the US. There is no tracking available once it enters your country. Thank you for understanding.

ATTENTION NON-US RESIDENTS: Please note that I am not responsible for any duties/taxes/VAT/import/handling fees charged by other countries at customs, which often can be pricey. These charges are imposed by the destination country/postal system and are solely the responsibility of the buyer. Please be aware that you may have to pay additional monies to your government/postal system at time of delivery for the import of goods. I do not mark any international packages as "gift" as it is illegal to do so.
