A beautiful old scenic locket. This is a nice chunky locket, it has some very sweet photos inside already - but you can of course add your own (even on top, if you want to keep the originals tucked underneath). Available, priced at £130.

All about Dear Rose, With Love

Dear Rose, With Love specialises in selling antique and vintage jewellery.

The shop is run by myself (Joanna) and my husband (David). I source, clean, and list all of our treasures and David is our in-house goldsmith, he also replies to any queries you may have here on Etsy.

I grew up around vintage and antique items (my mother owned an antique shop!) which allowed me to gain a large database of knowledge, I've continued to extend my knowledge and experience specifically in the jewellery field over the last 5 years. I use a combination of my knowledge, precious metal testing kit, and Presidium gemstone tester to bring you accurate and honest descriptions of each item I list. I collect jewellery myself and have a particular love for Georgian and Victorian era items, a taste which you will see reflected in my shop.

If you have any questions at all, send us a message, and David will get back to you as soon as possible.

Every item is lovingly sourced, cleaned, polished, photographed, presented, gift wrapped and posted with care. You can enjoy quality vintage and antique goods at affordable prices, and know that they are being described and sent to you with the utmost of care. Thank you for taking a look at our shop, we hope you'll find a treasure that is perfect for you! The items we sell are either classed as vintage or antique (vintage means they are older than 20 years, and antique is over 100 years old).

Vintage and antique items have been pre-owned, which means that most items do have slight signs of age related wear. We believe this adds great character to our pieces and we promise to fully describe all main points of wear in the description. Please expect general light wear associated with age on all items.

Descriptions include the sizes and dimensions of the item. Please note that pictures and photographs on the internet can sometimes give a misleading look to the colour and size, etc. If you would like more information, please ask prior to purchase - we are always happy to help, just send a message.

All gemstones and precious metals are tested and verified by us, we guarantee you that you get exactly what we have described the item as!

All items are gently and lightly cleaned, sanitised, and sympathetically polished so they will arrive with you ready to wear. We believe that patina gained through age is beautiful, so we do not highly polish antique items in order to allow them to keep their wonderful character. We never subject our antiques to harsh cleaning methods, such as modern ultrasonic cleaners, and we highly recommend to retain their condition and charm that you don't do this either. You wouldn't put an antique car through a modern day car wash, the same applies with jewellery!

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders

REFUND POLICY:

Please contact us if you wish to return an item, please do not ship an item back without speaking to us first.

UK and EU:
Customers in the EU have by law 14 days to return a non-customised item which they do not wish to keep. We are sure you will be delighted with your purchase, but in the case where you are not we will offer you a full refund on the safe return of the item. The item must be in original condition with no alterations, damage or additional wear to be eligible for a refund. Please inform us of your intent to return within 3 days of the item arriving, and post back within 7. All items must be received back with their original packaging in full, or they will be considered ineligible for a refund.

Outside of the EU - USA, Japan, Australia etc:
We are sure you will be delighted with your purchase, but in the case where you are not we will offer you a full refund minus a 10% restocking fee on the safe return of the item. The item must be in original condition with no alterations, damage or additional wear to be eligible for a refund. Please inform us of your intent to return within 3 days of the item arriving, and post back within 7. All items must be received back with their original packaging in full, or they will be considered ineligible for a refund. 10% of the item price will be retained as a re-stocking fee.

International orders returned must clearly state 'RETURN' on the outer packaging to avoid us incurring customs charges. If the customer does not mark 'Return' on the parcel and we incur Customs charges due to this then the amount will be deducted from their refund price.

Please note that return postage is payable by the buyer and not Dear Rose, With Love, and original postage costs are non refundable. Please ensure all original packaging is used to send the item back. Please use a tracked shipping method and send us a copy of the tracking number via Etsy messages.

Layaway items, re-sized rings, and any other customised or converted items, are not eligible to return for a refund and are considered to be a final sale. If the hygiene seal is broken on earrings, they are then non-returnable.
Payment
LAYAWAY POLICY

We offer layway for items priced over £100!

An initial deposit of 20% of the item cost to hold the piece is required, and full payment is to be made within 8 weeks. Instalments can be made towards the Paypal invoice as and when suits you within the 8 week period. Once the final payment has cleared the item will be shipped.

Please remember that if you choose to put an item on layaway you are entering into a contract and committing to pay for the item within the specified 8 weeks. Please be advised layaway items are a final sale and non-returnable, and layaway items are not included in any discounts, promotion codes or shop sales. If you change your mind during your layaway plan and no longer want your item, you will forfeit your deposit. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.

We do not offer layaway for the first 48 hours after an item has been listed, in order to give everyone a fair chance to purchase the item outright if desired. After 48 hours have passed, the item can be placed on layway.
Shipping
DISPATCH TIME:

We aim to dispatch every order within 48 hours of the order being placed. We ship orders every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you require an item quickly, please contact us before ordering to ensure we can meet your deadline.

POSTAGE COSTS AND SERVICES:

UK ORDERS: All items are sent via a tracked and insured service (Either 1st Class Recorded Delivery or Next Day Special Delivery), we will update your order with your parcel tracking number after it has been posted so that you can follow its journey to you.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: For items under £60 you may select standard airmail or International Tracked and Signed. Standard airmail has no tracking or insurance, and therefore if the parcel goes missing in the post we cannot be held liable or claim for compensation. Items sent standard will be in a padded bubble envelope. We encourage all buyers to pay for the Tracked service, as this comes with £250 insurance cover in the event that the parcel goes missing. £250 is the maximum amount that we can insure any parcel for. If you are ordering multiple items that total over £250, we encourage you to place individual orders and have them send individually, to allow for more complete insurance cover.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: For items over £60 - We post all items over the value of £60 by International Tracked and Signed Delivery. You will be updated with a tracking number after the parcel has been dispatched. Please do not be alarmed if the tracking goes quiet for a few days - this is common when the parcel is passing through customs.

Please be aware that International orders can vary greatly in arrival time, while the International Tracked and Signed service usually does arrive within 7 days, it can vary and parcels can take up to 28 working days to arrive on occasion; sometimes they can be held up outwith our control due to Customs.

We unfortunately cannot be held responsible for items which go missing in the post (rest assured, this is an exceptionally rare situation), we always obtain a receipt to prove that we have fulfilled our duties and have shipped the item via whichever method you selected. If you selected International Tracked delivery then we can file an insurance claim to seek reimbursement for the missing parcel up to the value of £250 (please be aware that any successful insurance claims will be forwarded to the customer upon our receipt of them and not before); however if you selected standard airmail then no compensation can be claimed.

ORDER CANCELLATIONS: We aim to post every order within 48 hours of the order being placed, but usually we post within 24. For this reason, we cannot usually accept order cancellations as we would require notice of cancellation prior to the item shipping. If you do contact us to cancel an order before it has been shipped, we will cancel the order for you as per your request and 10% of the item cost will be charged and retained from your payment as our re-stocking fee (this covers the costs we have had to pay to end, and then to re-list the item for sale on all the platforms we use).

PLEASE NOTE:

Clients are responsible for entering the correct shipping information; changes to shipping address after order is placed can not be guaranteed. We always post to the address you supply to us on Etsy, so if you get this wrong unfortunately we cannot be held responsible if the parcel does not reach you. Re-shipping orders returned to us due to buyer error (incorrect address at checkout) will incur new postage charges which are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

International clients are responsible for knowing and paying any customs and duty fees implemented by their own country, if applicable. Each country has their own rules regarding customs, we have no control over these fees. These are not shipping charges and are not included in the cost of your purchase.

Any International items returned to us because of un-paid customs, or because they have not been collected (including items that were attempted delivery and never rescheduled by the client) will be subject to order cancellation on safe return of the item with us. In these circumstances, a 15% restocking fee and all shipping costs and duty involved will be charged and taken from the total refund to cover the costs, time, and inconvenience caused.
Additional policies and FAQs
RING RESIZING AND CONVERSIONS:

We offer ring re-sizing and are happy to take on conversion projects too! This is undertaken by David himself, in house, with no third parties involved, which means the process is very quick (if we have to order in special parts it can take a little longer). When you message us - you are speaking directly to the goldsmith who will be undertaking the work, so he will offer advice on anything you may have questions about, and offer a price quote for the work on request.

All work is carried out to a very high standard, using a professional micro welder machine, and using quality materials. All rings are photographed on our ring mandrel prior to shipping so you can be assured that we have sized to the correct size that you requested.

Please be aware that if you choose to have a ring sized, or a piece altered in any way, it is considered a customised item and is non-returnable.


GIFT WRAPPING:

We do offer gift wrapping. We can also ship directly to your recipient if you are gifting, if you would like us to included a custom note or message in the parcel just let us know when you place your order.
