Even when I was little the art of colouring in finely detailed pictures felt like I was taking a break from everything. My new mandalas stickers range reflects this calm & meditative state without all the hard work of colouring them all in! More to come.
I am so thrilled to offer this super cute cigar tin & a batch of stamps for sale. The tin is still in such great condition and the hinges work perfectly. I love finding adorable things like this for my shop & I hope you like them too.
I'm so pleased that my friend Barbara in Le Bugue, France has agreed to make cards to sell on Etsy. I've set up a new section 'Handmade Cards' in the shop so do check out these well made items!

About

Ephemera, washi, journaling kits, oh my!

I've always loved vintage books. I think it's because, growing up in South Africa, new books were seen as a luxury, so the only access I had to books were very old encyclopaedia from before the moon landing and books my parents and aunts and uncles reluctantly let me borrow to read.

Two years ago I really got into journaling and discovered that the journaling and art community relied heavily on ephemera. I bought loads of ephemera from other shops but never really felt like I got bang for my buck. So I started creating my own kits, fussy cutting plant, bug and animal pieces from vintage books I've salvaged from the local recycling centre and from charity shops that were on their way to be pulped. I started creating my successful journaling kits because I knew what I looked for when I bought these. The kits vary from smaller grab and go kits to larger more elaborate starter kits that include a rubber stamp, stencils, washi tape etc.

Every kit is different and my heart goes into each one.

I then branched out and started scanning vintage pictures and turning them into sticker sheets to be used decoratively in journals, planners and on snail mail envelopes. This really is one of the favourite things I've started doing for myself, really. I also then expanded into buying in unique and different types of washi not normally found here in the UK.

I am truly lucky that this has been massively successful too. The washi tapes are beautiful and I try to make sure I carry a varied selection. My shop isn't the biggest out there, but I like to think that everything I stock is curated by me. Everything sold is my taste and, from the returning customers and the happy comments, it looks like there are a great many journaling and crafting friends out there who have similar eclectic tastes.

Do visit the shop, have a look if there's anything you like. Journaling kits will become a bigger feature now too from this year forward as I think I have found the perfect vehicle to sell these in, making use of a full face tyvek window envelopes.

There will also be more sticker sheets featuring flora and fauna as I'm getting a new office which in turn will mean it will be easier to scan images and turn them into stickers.

If you have any queries, do give me a shout!

I love paper and always have. I started journaling and discovered a community as in love with paper, vintage ephemera, washi and beautiful paper items as I was. I decided to open a shop dedicated to the things I love. Welcome to Emm's!
