My name is Gill and I am one of the people behind Frieda's Frills. We opened Frieda's Frills to share our love of handmade arts and crafts.
I have loved sewing ever since I can remember (although it took me a while to develop enough patience to finish a project!). After many valiant attempts my Mum finally manage to teach me how to crochet. Since then I have started knitting, tatting, weaving, beading and cooking.
My Mum, Jenny, was taught to sew by her mother when she was a little girl. A friend taught her how to crochet, and she also learnt to knit. Jenny also took a course in folk art painting, and enjoys creating beautiful, unique art work.
We were inspired to open an Etsy Shop after a friend of ours opened her Etsy Shop - Hello Dolly Designs. She sells beautiful easy to follow knitting patterns, be sure to check out her shop! When we opened our shop we decided to make products that would show the individuality of the owner and yet combine practicality and style. This is why each item in our Etsy shop is lovingly handcrafted using quality materials.
As we lead a busy life, being able to spend time creating and making things for our Etsy store is wonderful!
We live in South Western, New South Wales, Australia in a small farming and mining town. Our House is on a few acres at the edge of town. Because of our location we have had some interesting wildlife turn up, from echidnas at 4am in the morning to kangaroos, the neighbours sheep and horses, even a ferret!
We own a menagerie of sorts with two dog, two cats, two ducks, two chickens, six angora goats and too many goldfish to name! We hope to share a little of this country life that we love through our Etsy shop and our blog at www.friedasfrills.com.
