Nella nostra famiglia, la luce è sempre stata più di una semplice illuminazione: è tradizione, memoria e arte. Da tre generazioni realizziamo lampade di carta a mano, piegandole, modellandole e dando vita a creazioni che riflettono una bellezza serena e una semplicità senza tempo.
Il negozio è ora gestito da una figlia e da una nipote della famiglia, una donna che in passato ha studiato all'estero ma che ha sentito il richiamo della propria casa e delle proprie radici. Dopo anni di lontananza, è tornata, portando con sé nuove prospettive e un profondo rispetto per l'artigianato che le è stato tramandato.
Le lanterne hanno una storia di oltre 2000 anni, che risale alla dinastia Han Occidentale. Tradizionalmente, presentavano un rivestimento esterno in carta o seta e una cornice realizzata in bambù o strisce di legno. Ogni lanterna era – ed è tuttora – meticolosamente realizzata a mano secondo tecniche tradizionali: preparazione delle strisce di bambù, essiccazione, assemblaggio manuale della cornice, avvolgimento e rinforzo con bambù, applicazione della colla, incollaggio della carta e accurata asciugatura. Questo intricato processo richiede pazienza e maestria, rendendo ogni lanterna un lavoro di dedizione.

The shop is now led by a daughter and granddaughter of the family, a woman who once studied abroad but felt the pull of home and heritage. After years away, she returned, carrying with her both new perspectives and a deep respect for the craft passed down to her.
Lanterns have a history of more than 2,000 years, tracing back to the Western Han Dynasty. Traditionally, they featured paper or silk exteriors and frames crafted from bamboo or wooden strips. Each lantern was—and still is—meticulously handmade through time-honored techniques: preparing bamboo strips, drying, hand-assembling the frame, wrapping and reinforcing with bamboo, applying glue, pasting paper, and carefully drying. This intricate process requires patience and craftsmanship, making every lantern a labor of devotion.
