BREAKING NEEDLES 2017

Hello, My name is Jalisa Ocean, I was born in a small town called Corner Brook, Newfoundland and raised all throughout the maritimes. Art has always been my life. I started coloring, drawing, crafting, and sewing as a lil lass. From drawing on walls, sewing quilts, toll painting, decorating hats, and building castles out of boxes I just loved to get crafty.

I made my way from the East to the West coast of Canada and started my business making one of a kind costumes for friends and performance artists in the EDM scene. I traveled to many festivals selling my one of a kind hand made clothing and accessories with the artist collective Monhnstr and Queen.

Since then I have started working costuming in film and just wrapped the build crew of Season 4 - CW - TV Series - The 100.

Breaking Needles 2017 is my latest collection after taking some time off from online sales. I hope you like what I've made for you. Each piece is one of a kind, handmade, and up cycled from vintage, thrifted and found objects.
