I have been creative and creating things my entire life. Life led me to a career in medical administration, but lets face it- medicine is NOT creative.Therefore, my nights and weekends have always been full of projects.
The truth is as a full time working Mom, my plate is full. Many nights are quite sleepless, sewing and sketching new designs, while watching endless hours of tv (Breaking Bad, Scandal etc lol). Stuffy I am not!!
Sarting this endeavor was by chance-I created my first Bow Holder for my 2 year old daughter Julia, then made a few more as gifts for friends, and finally jumped in with both feet and started making them to sell.
I did a bit of research, and found yes, other people DO make them...but none of them are like mine. My skirts are long, and full not flimsy or poorly made. You will find patterns and color schemes matching the most fashionable on trend nursery decor and little girls rooms. Honestly, if I dont LOVE it, it will not make it into the shop. Hours are spent (while watching marathons of badass tv), putting fabric and ribbon combinations and patterns together. And thats just for the Bow Holders! I worked for months, using my daughter's reaction on perfecting my Toddler Dresses. Soft fabrics, sumptuous ribbon, satin lining- no "itchy spots". I expect nothing less than perfection , so I do strive to provide excellent customer service, working with my customers from concept to delivery. I intend on expanding my designs to include more items in the near future, so keep a look out.
I have big dreams for Julia Inspires. Hoping it enables me to one day quit my day job and focus on my creative side full time, with Julia beside me, inspiring me with just a giggle and a smile.
