Announcement   I've recently completed two new jewellery boxes inspired by the beauty of the natural world. One shaped like a butterfly, complete with opening wings, and another shaped like a gum leaf.
I'm so pleased with the way these have turned out, I'm on the lookout for more beautiful natural creatures and plants to inspire my next designs.

About

It all comes down to craftsmanship

For me, working with wood is about two things: creative design, and quality craftsmanship.
These two things inform and guide everything I make.
I try to approach everything in life in this way, but never more so than when I am working with wood.

I love wood. For me, the warmth of the colors and the wonderfully complex and natural textures of the wood grain make solid timber the best material by far to have in the home.

If this wasn't enough, I recently discovered research showing that surrounding yourself with solid timber furnishings and decor has similar psychological and physical health benefits to spending time in natural environments.
(Seriously! you can check out the full report here: http://makeitwood.org/benefits-of-wood/wood-for-health.cfm)
