Knavish Designs - Hand Made Leather Wares for Man and Beast

Knavish Designs is a new small business based in Tasmania, Australia. I'm into animals, archery and making things and have been making my own equipment for years, so it all just kind of happened.

Hi there, welcome to Knavish Designs - Handmade Leather Wares for Man and Beast (and women and kids :-)) ).

Thank you for visiting my Etsy shop.

I spent a number of years working in small, independent saddleries where I learned to work in leather but since branching out and working for myself I have discovered an even greater pleasure in designing goods for my own and other people's use. We all have ideas about what we want but often mass produced items just don't meet our needs.

I like to make custom goods because I love the process of pinning down the details and making sure you get exactly what you want.

I have chosen my listed range of goods because these are the things I use myself and therefore know and understand them. Since I make my own horse, dog and archery equipment I know how my chosen leathers, dyes, metal fittings etc behave and what I can expect from them. I choose the highest quality raw materials available to me and I expect these goods to serve you well for many, trouble free years.

My goods are all hand made by me in Tasmania, Australia.

Accepted payment methods

Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
Please excuse my use of sometimes second hand padding and packaging which protects your order but keeps costs down. Should your order arrive with damage that occurred during postage, please send me a photo of the damaged packaging before you completely unwrap your item and we can discuss options for rectifying the damage - either refund, repair or replacement.
I like to think that the often lengthy communications involved in finalising the details of a custom order will remove the risk of you receiving an item that gives you a nasty surprise. However, if a mistake occurs or communications go awry, please let me know and we can discuss the options to alleviate your distress.
Payment
I utilise all the payment options available through Etsy - PayPal, direct credit, gift cards etc.

It can sometimes take a long time to finalise the details on custom goods. Emails might to and fro for a couple of weeks as ideas take shape but I find that the fun part of the process. I will check details with you frequently to make sure I'm on the right track. Once the details have been finalised I will accept your payment as the final confirmation that you are happy with the design/s and will set about making your item/s. Therefore, quite a bit of work - designing, pricing raw materials etc - can go into an order before you actually pay for it but you are free to leave the conversation at any time before payment. I never actually start making an item until payment has been received though.
Delivery
I use Australia Post for all my national and international deliveries and have found that registering packages is the safest and most cost effective option. I have had no problems with items being lost in the post.
Delivery times within Australia are generally up to a week and for international items can be a week to 10 days. These times may vary according to the time of year and how close you live to large, urban centres.
If you would like the added security of insurance for your package, please let me know when you order.
