A little about Komorebi

Komorebi was born in mid-2014 after spending hours trawling the net for a bohemian headpiece for my wedding. When I couldn't find what I was after, it became a project to make my own. Requests from friends and friends of friends grew until it was time to turn my little project into a business.

I’ve always been a creative soul with a busy mind and patient hands. As a young girl I was constantly making up plays and painting portraits of my dogs.

Komorebi is a Japanese word used to describe sunlight filtered through the trees. It encapsulates a sense of natural beauty that I want to be found in all of my pieces. I love working with natural gemstones and pearls. When I rotate them through my fingers I feel a connection with the earth, the same way I do when I’m walking barefoot on soil or swimming in the ocean. There is something very powerful about that. Too often we are disconnected from the land and forget to appreciate Mother Nature’s magnificence. It is a pleasure using tiny pieces of the Earth to create something that is unique and will be loved and treasured by its owner.

I love custom orders, especially bridal headpieces. I always feel so privileged to be trusted with the honour of creating a piece of jewellery that will be worn on someone’s special day.

I want you to feel the love that your jewellery was made with the minute you put it on. I want you to feel that connection with the earth. Let's all share the love and make the world just a little brighter.
