About

What does Linguistic Anarchy mean?

A long, long time ago I was having a discussion about grammar, when someone said:

"Angell is a linguistic anarchist! You can never tell what sort of crazy derivation of English she’ll use to speak to you next! Maybe you’re just imagining meaning from random letters pounded out, who knows? Since you can’t even know that she’s speaking the same language as you, you don’t know if there’s an implicit negative in every statement, you don’t know anything about what she’s communicating! It could be gibberish!"

Aside from sewing, crocheting, knitting, drawing, singing, typography, painting, I am also a writer. At my best I am completely disorganised, and my worst utterly in love with my own writing, but the mantle of Linguistic Anarchist quite suits me.

When I’m not pursuing artistic endeavours (or sleeping) I can be found at the local coffee chain, making fantastic lattes.

Frequently asked questions
Do you offer wholesale pricing?

All of my items are lovingly handcrafted and I am unable to provide them wholesale, but I do offer bulk discounts on orders over $200. Please contact me through the Custom Order button for a quote.

How do I care for my item? What's inside?

Tribbles and Amigurumi should be spot cleaned with a damp cloth and gentle soap (if required). If your item gets wet, gently press the plush to squeeze out as much water as possible and allow to air dry, preferable in sunlight.

All tribbles and amigurumi are stuffed with Eucalyptus fibre. This incredible filling is naturally insulating and hypoallergenic; it releases moisture very quickly, preventing growth of mites, bacteria, and mildew. Eucalyptus fibre is biodegradable and has a low environmental impact, being extracted from fast-growing trees that require little water and grow on land unsuitable for agriculture.

When will I get my order?

This depends on two factors: processing time and shipping time.

Processing Time: This is how long it takes me to physically produce your order. 1-3 items are usually ready to ship within 24 hours, while larger orders may take up to 3 days. If your order will take longer to produce, I will let you know.

Shipping Time: This is how long it takes the order to reach you once it has been lodged with the Post Ofice. All items are shipped via Australia Post, and I will supply a tracking number to you with your dispatch notification. I recommend that you use Australia Post's website directly for parcel information, as it is more accurate than Etsy's tracking.

Why is shipping so expensive?

I'm afraid you would have to ask Australia Post about that. The price you pay for shipping covers the postage cost as well as a small fee to cover the packaging materials.

Please note that any fees and/or taxes are the responsibility of the BUYER (that's you). If an item is returned to me for any reason I will contact you with two options:

1. Redelivery. I will ship the package to you again at your own expense. Your package will be held until confirmation of payment. This option is NOT available if your package has been returned twice.

2. Refund of Items Only. If you opt not to receive your items, you will be refunded for your order, less shipping. If I cannot contact you this will be the default action.

Why doesn't my item look like the photo?

Possibilities include:

1. Monitor/Photography. Colours will look different on different monitors and under different lighting. While all attempts are made to photograph items in a representative matter, please refer to the item description for details.

2. Handmade. As I cut, sew, crochet, assemble, etc everything by hand, variations are unavoidable. Your items may also appear different from the photos as I make improvements in the techniques used.

3. Restock. When I restock certain colours, there may be minor differences in appearance due to manufacturing or unavailability of the original.

I favourited an item and now it's not available! Why?

As a small business, I buy small quantities of materials. This means that my available stock is limited.

This is doubly true for my range of tribbles, as the speciality furs I feature are mostly small lots. If you really like a tribble, be mindful of my remaining quantities as sold out items won't be coming back.

I am in the process of setting up a mailing list (approximately one email a week). If you would be interested, please convo me.
