I am running my first giveaway! The lucky winner can choose between any of my print designs & whether they would prefer my yoga legging or capri leggings.

Good luck!
I was inspired by the traditional batik printing methods of Indonesia & Malaysia when I created this design. It was fun to work with a limited color palette and imagine how this would have been printed if I had to use wax & layers of dye.
My latest new collection is live in my Etsy store. The colors of the mandala were inspired by popular color palettes of the 50’s, set on a light pink background.

About

Unique illustrations and pattern designs printed onto ethically handmade yoga & activewear.

"Designed in Melbourne, Australia & shipped from the US, Europe & Canada".

About Me:
I am a graphic designer, illustrator, qualified naturopath & nutritionist who decided being creative was what I really loved to do. I live in Melbourne, Australia and work from home while parenting my human and furry children.

Why Matcha & Ink?
I worked in the naturopathic and nutrition industry for 17 years before I decided to pursue a creative career. I started Matcha & Ink as a way of fusing my two passions, health & surface design.

The yoga legging idea came about when I was frustrated by the selection of yoga leggings in my wardrobe. Black is a great colour but it gets a bit boring when you wear black leggings to the gym or yoga class day in, day out. I am a print lover but could never find a print design I wanted to wear.

In the future I hope to expand the yoga range to include girls leggings, yoga mats and other active wear. Although not at all health related, I am a designer who loves prints and can't help adding in some of my designs on silk scarves & throw pillows too.

For those of you who dont know Matcha is powdered green tea leaves. It is healthier than normal green tea because you consume the whole leaf, not just the water soluble part of the leaf. I gave up drinking coffee in 2016 (again) and have succesfully replaced my coffee addition with a matcha latte addiction, although I only allow myself two a day.

I subscribe to a daily email called ‘Notes from the Universe’. Its a fun email that arrives at 7pm each day. It contains tips from the universe. This is what the universe said to me yesterday, words I wish I lived by -

“You don't have to take everything so seriously, Lou. Life isn't black and white, answers aren't always yes or no, and absolutely nothing has to happen today. Act when you're ready. Be led by your feelings. And the next time someone wants to fit you into a mold, just tell 'em that your jeans are in the wash, your angels are at the mall, and Oprah's on the other line”.

I hope you enjoy my creations. I am always happy to hear from you via Etsy Conversations or at hello @matcha-and-ink .com.

  • A Small Print Studio

    Montreal, QC

I work with a small print studio in Canada. My pattern designs are printed onto fabric, the studio cuts and sews the product for me. When you buy from Matcha & Ink you are buying something sweat shop free. The employees of the print shop are paid fair wages and work under excellent conditions.

  • My helpful Printer

    CA, United States

Things I look for in a manufacturer are reliability, quality of the finished product, great looking printing of my designs, plus fast and reliable shipping. I have tested and sampled all my designs on each product & I only sell what I would be happy to buy myself.

Thanks for your understanding.

Can I wear the tops & leggings as a matching set?

The crop tops & legging ans shorts can be worn as a set. The fabric is the same & the print will match.

The loose tank top will not match the leggings or shorts because the fabric is different. Different fabrics print slightly differently, resulting in a slightly different color on the finished garment.
