About Mettaville

Sales 338
On Etsy since 2009

I love making journals and fun little things for you to enjoy. I'm a one person maker, shop owner working in my tiny home studio in Auckland, New Zealand.

There is something about writing, the feeling of pen on paper, the motions, the quietening of the mind and being one with the heart that is just so healing, empowering and powerful. That is the gift of journal writing.

I started writing in journals when I was a teenager, and have been writing since. My journals are my best friends; they have seen me through rough patches and also good fun times. I wrote many sorrowful events and I also have had amazing dreams come true while pouring my hopes, dreams and wishes in the pages. The power of words is immense and life changing. I believe that journaling improves our wellbeing, helps us re-discover our authentic selves and be the person we are meant to be, crafting dreams and living them.

With the love of journaling and the transformation that I've seen in my life led me to start making my own books to write in. Now I make these carefully crafted hand bound journals for you and others to find comfort and joy as you write and scribble in the blank pages. Mettaville journals are made with my own hand dyed shibori fabric, combinations of op-shop (thrift store) finds and store bought materials. I also make other fun items to go along with the books. I do my best to reduce and recycle whenever I can, that way both you and I are doing our bit on being kinder to the earth.

You can find me in person at Titirangi Village Market, Auckland, every last Sunday of the month where I sell my books and other goodies.
