About

My creative style is fun, bright, colourful, nostalgic and quirky.

Today and when I can first remember I have always loved books. As a child I was always curious about how they were made. I had so many beautiful interactive children’s books like the ones you lift up different panels, pop-up books, books with holes and cellophane pieces to look through.

This is what has spurred my love for creating my own print media which, has lead me to self-publish my own publications and design my own stationery collections.

My work and products have included self-published zines, such as: My Life In Biscuits an illustrated biscuit memoir, Little Book of Mt Masking Tape that included crafty ideas and projects using my favourite craft tool Japanese washi tape and Japan in a collection a travel guide with a twist that reviews shops through mementos.

My most current product is my 'Pop goes your mail', letter art kit that includes everything you need to decorate and send a cute mail package to family, friends and pen pals.

Most weekends are spent packaging up my zines and stationery kits and sending them to people around the world. I like to make each purchase special by gift wrapping them in pretty papers and decorating parcels in Japanese washi tape, polka dot stickers and self-made rubber stamps seals, with a handwritten note.

When it comes to writing and designing my publications the original way to make a zine is the cut and paste method. I sometimes do this but more often than not I make mine digitally, the same way any magazine and book is made. I begin with an idea, and then make notes regarding what will be on each page. I do like to design the covers first as it helps me create a visual path for the rest of the publication.

So I guess you could say I work backwards as covers are normally designed last in the print media industry. If I’m including illustrations or collage with pictures, photos and washi tape details, each material is scanned into my computer and digitally edited and designed onto the page.

My creations are inspired by childhood nostalgia, the 80s, bright colours and patterns, mementos, personal journals, store fronts, my potential box of craft materials, Japan and the cute (kawaii) and kitsch.

I'm a craft-based maker, designer and writer from Sydney, Australia. All of my works have a kawaii (meaning "cute" in Japanese) pop aesthetic. I enjoy creating things that give people a sense of nostalgia and makes their eyes pop with excitement!!
