About PatternsFromOz

Sales 2,057
On Etsy since 2017

I have inherited so much, I'm sharing it with the world!

My parents never threw anything away, and I'm guessing their parents didn't either, I'm not talking "Hoarders" like you see on TV, but people who have lived through the Depression and were frugal with their money and belongings.

I've come to realise that there are only so many vintage treasures I can display and appreciate.

My ETSY journey began with SuesUpcyclednVintage. That's where everything was originally. I felt the shop was getting a little TOO eclectic, so I decided to split it into 3.

www.etsy.com/au/shop/PatternsFromOz is now my Mother's old sewing patterns, knitting patterns, crochet patterns, cross stitch patterns plus some other bits and pieces.

SuesUpcyclednVintage has changed name to www.etsy.com/au/shop/VintageGiftsFromOz - and now has many Junk Journal and Slow Stitching supplies, plus continues to house Dad's old Wheels magazines and other assorted vintage treasures.

www.etsy.com/au/shop/RefashionsFromOz has some of Mum's vintage clothing from the 1950s, but will mostly be filled with fashions I have rescued from Op Shops, friends and family. I enjoy bringing new life to old garments!

Frequently asked questions
Will the pattern get to me dry?

YES - I always post my patterns in a ziplock plastic sleeve. This should keep most weather out.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Want gift wrapping? Not a problem - I can do that! Just choose the option during the checkout process. There is a fee of $5AUD for giftwrapping.

Have the patterns been checked?

YES! I check all of my patterns for missing pieces. If I find that anything is missing I will list it in the description, and it will appear on the "pattern check" photo.

Is everything in this store new?

NO. More than likely, everything in this shop is old, vintage and pre-loved. Most of the patterns were my Mother's - from 1940's through to modern day. I list the condition in the description, so please read it.

This yarn is discontinued. What do I do?

There are a couple of places you can go to online, to find out about yarn substitutes.

First of all, try Ravelry.com...
https://www.ravelry.com/yarns

This will tell you what the yarn was like. It may tell you an appropriate substitute. If it doesn't, then try entering the properties in the following website. It will tell you what brands you can purchase with those properties.

https://www.loveknitting.com.au/knitting-yarns?country=AU#?fiber_yarns=59&yarn_weight=375
(This was the link I used to find a particular Australian yarn substitute).
