Mentre ho sempre amato le arti e i mestieri, non ho iniziato a fare bambole e animali fino a quando le mie figlie non sono nate più di vent'anni fa. Volevo che avessero bambole e giocattoli carini, fatti a mano e sicuri con cui giocare, quindi ho anche iniziato a giocare con materiali naturali come feltri e lana. Quando le mie figlie hanno iniziato la scuola materna in una scuola Waldorf, molti degli altri bambini e genitori mi hanno chiesto di fare loro bambole simili, quindi sono stato incoraggiato a fare di più e condividere la mia arte. Da allora, ho continuato a fare giocattoli e decorazioni per le mie figlie a mano e ho anche imparato la ceramica, la lavorazione del legno e il taglio della carta.
La mia arte è sempre stata quella di fare cose belle per la mia famiglia e i miei amici, e lungo la strada ho avuto la possibilità di condividere la mia arte in mostre di artigianato e negozi d'arte nella mia città. While I have always loved arts and crafts, I didn’t start making dolls and animals until my daughters were born over twenty years ago. I wanted them to have cute, handmade, and safe dolls and toys to play with so I also started playing with natural materials like felts and wool. When my daughters started preschool at a Waldorf school, many of the other children and parents asked me to make them similar dolls so I was encouraged to make more and share my art. Since then, I have continued to make toys and decorations for my daughters by hand and have also learned pottery, woodworking, and paper cutting.
My art has always been about making beautiful things for my family and friends, and along the way I have had the chance to share my art at craft shows and art shops in my town. With encouragement from my daughters, I have just recently opened an Etsy shop for the first time. Thanks for stopping by!
