Mustang Sally ... entertainment director (after she saw the profile pic)
Disturbingly awesome art ..
Oh, hello! Sorry, I didn't see you come in. Thanks for dropping by my shop. I'm Jan - the owner, creator, designer and anything else I need to be. The profile pic is my entertainment director, Mustang Sally. She saw me trying to take a selfie to use for the profile and that was her reaction so I put her face up there instead (and she is not going to like it!).
I am a self taught artist and started drawing from the time I was old enough to realise you could do more with a pencil than eat it (a long, long time ago) and any flat surface was fair game. I am a pet portrait artist (www.stoneandcanvasportraits.com) but I am always looking for new things to try so back in January 2014 when I stumbled across a website featuring this new form of 3D resin art (I think I was googling brushes at the time) I knew I just had to give it a try.
The process involves painting on layer after layer of resin to create artwork with a perception of depth and realism. It is a time consuming process as each layer of resin has a 24 hour drying time and there are at least 5 layers in each piece. There has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears (well okay no blood) along the way but I learn a little more with each piece.
Sometimes when people see my work they get the same look on their face as you do when you think you have stepped in something .. you know the one .. you cautiously lift your foot, look underneath and realise that yes, you did step in it ... and there's that look of eeuuwww! Before they can hit their speed dial for the animal protection society I tell them that there are no real fish in the artwork ... I am not a taxidermist, I'm an artist and they are made up of acrylic paint. The rocks however are real (but no one seems to mind that). One customer said that my work was "disturbingly awesome" and I loved it so have kept it as my catch phrase.
I love creating my 3D artworks and watching them gradually come to life. I believe there are very few artists in Australia creating this type of artwork so it is something that is very unique and out of the ordinary.
I hope you enjoy your browse through my shop. Maybe you'll come back and decide to take one home. Bring a friend next time .. everyone welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to visit.

Delivery
Once the package has been shipped, I cannot be held responsible for what happens to the package during transit or upon receipt. I will do everything in my power to make sure that your order arrives safely but have no control over what happens after the item has been shipped.
In keeping postage costs low, I send via standard post which means no insurance and no signature required. If you require any upgrade on postage to add insurance or signature on delivery, please contact me and I will provide you with a quote. This can get quite expensive (especially if outside of Australia) and all extra costs will need to be paid by the customer.
My postage quotes are based on the pricing structure by Australia Post. I do not have details of individual countries customs regulations or taxes and therefore will not be held responsible for these fees/taxes/amounts and are payable by the receiver. If you believe there might be taxes issued for your order, it would be advisable to make enquiries with your Customs department or postal service before ordering to avoid any unwanted surprises.
Packages delivered within Australia can take up to a week to arrive domestically and 2-3 weeks internationally. In most cases, items will be received in a shorter time frame than this but, once again, cannot be guaranteed.
MISSING PACKAGES -
As previously stated, I am not responsible for the item once it has been shipped. If your package does not turn up within the expected timeframe, please contact me and I will do everything I can to follow up with Australia Post. Please always allow for 3 - 4 weeks for delivery before deeming the package as lost.
