At an age when many people are dreaming of retirement, I decided to start a small business, seeing it as a welcome challenge and chance to learn new and different things outside of my role as an English language educator. I invite you to accompany me on my journey of discovery as I share with you the treasures I find at markets: indigo dyed aizome fabrics, silks, traditional clothing, kimono handbags, fans, dolls, religious artefacts, wooden kashigata sweets moulds, the quirky and unusual treasures that catch my eye.

Welcome to my store where you will find vintage Japanese handbags and clutch purses, hand fans, fabric, furoshiki wrapping cloths, dolls, tableware, religious items, art, tea ceremony goods and a host of other vintage treasures. I collect all of these items personally, mostly from temple and antique markets in the Kansai area of Japan where I live. I hope you find something you love in my store.

Request a cancellation within: 1 hour of purchase
I don't accept exchanges
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Returns and exchange details
Returns and refunds are only given if the item was completely misrepresented in its description. All of my goods are vintage, so it is to be expected that there will be some defects.

If for any reason you find you need to return an item, you must contact me first to make arrangements. It must be done within 3 days of receipt of the goods. You (the purchaser) will be responsible for all return postage costs.

Refund will be issued within 3 days of receipt of the items in good order. Shipping and handling costs will not be refunded.
I accept PayPal.

I can also accept domestic direct bank transfer to my Australian bank account; customers should contact me prior to purchase to ask about this option.
I aim to choose the safest and most economical shipping method for you based on each item's weight and size, as well as value. You will find this information at the bottom of each listing. If you would prefer to change the method I have selected, please contact me for an alternative quote.

'Shipping' includes the cost of postage, packaging, handling and any other associated charges.

I do my best to ship within 2 business days of receiving cleared payment.

If you require your items by a particular date, please be sure to let me know in case we need to arrange expedited EMS delivery (3- 5 days to most international destinations).

I am very happy to offer combined shipping for multiple items. In general, my shipping costs are based on shipping a single item to the furthest destination, but if the actual cost to your location works out to be significantly cheaper, I will issue a refund through PayPal.

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. I recommend that you check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.

If goods are damaged during shipping, please contact me immediately to work out a solution. Goods sent via EMS are fully covered by insurance. Registered airmail and SAL are covered up to 6,000 yen (approx. US$55). Unregistered items are not covered by insurance and no refunds will be given.

If your parcel is not able to be delivered to you and is 'returned to sender', you will be responsible for the cost of shipping it again. No refund will be given on 'returned to sender' items.

Once an item has been shipped, it is the buyer's responsibility to check tracking and delivery status.

I am not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen packages.


1. Registered parcels have a tracking number and limited insurance for damage compensation.

2. The maximum value for damaged or lost goods is 6,000 yen (about US$55). The postage cost is not covered and is non- refundable.

3. Tracking is limited and is not available in all countries. Check this Japan Post website in English for details of searchable countries:

Tracking is not usually updated in real time as it is with EMS express items. Depending on the situation in certain countries, it may be either impossible to search for some tracking information or it may take considerable time before it is updated. In such cases, Japan Post advises customers to visit their nearest local post office to obtain the desired information.

4. Due to international time differences, the latest updates available at the Japan Post website as well the display order may differ from the actual mail processing information.

5. If you are concerned about your parcel please use the track & trace services available at the websites of postal operators in your own country.
