About

Hello!! Welcome to my kaleidoscopic world of colourful fabric products for your wardrobe, home or upcoming event.

Here you will find an eclectic mix of products as I move from one project to the next. The one common thread; quirky colour combinations and oodles of fabric.

My creative journey started early on with arts and crafts as a kid. My favourite weekend activity was dismantling my bookshelf and rearranging all my knick-knacks and books into curated collections. Little did I realise I was styling and curating some of my very first vignettes! Fast forward a few decades & I have worked as a freelance costume designer, worked in the fashion industry, events & now finally back to my first love, design. The Colour Curator is a home for all my creative ideas to come to life with the use of my favourite medium, fabric!

You can follow my creative process and colourful life over on Instagram @thecolourcurator. When I’m not immersed in my own creative projects I’m helping clients bring their creative ideas to life including products such as cushion covers, party/wedding decorations, repurposing forgotten garments & much more. Get in touch if I can help create some colourful magic for your world too! X

Fabric/Leather Jewellery Care Instructions

Our earrings are carefully handmade in Melbourne. The life expectancy of your product will depend on your careful treatment of them. Store earrings separately to ensure the fabric holds shape & does not become damaged by the weight of other jewellery - you can iron the fabric flat (avoid metal eyelets) on low heat but cover fabric first with a thick cloth. Use a damp cloth or baby wipe to clean the fabric/leather. Use a lint roller or sticky tape to remove lint. An antiseptic swab or jewellery polish cloth can be used on the metal components. To protect fabric, apply perfume & cosmetics before wear. Remove earrings before showering.

Will my earrings fray?

Our fabric earrings are double sided and reinforced with interfacing for durability however over time they can start to fray on the outside edge of each fabric shape. This is the nature of using textiles. Some customers like the added texture while others prefer to trim the frayed edges with small fabric scissors.
