The Happy Viking

Since I started The Happy Viking in 2012, I’ve been down quite a few different paths, changed direction and tried various things. Sometimes things have worked and other times they have not. I’ve had some people tell me that I’m all over the place while others comment on how passionate, focussed and spontaneous I am. What I have learnt is that I can’t please everyone so it’s best for me to focus on what makes me happy; to be authentic – be myself and do what I love doing. Those who love what I do will follow me and those who don’t wont. It doesn’t matter.

We are all trying to find our purpose, our path, in life and I feel so grateful that I have found mine – “Keeping the Old Skills Alive”.

In the beginning, my focus for ‘Keeping the Old Skills Alive’ was purely about handcrafted leather. It was about producing wares the way they used to be made – with love, craftsmanship and attention to detail. For me it meant making unique pieces that would last a lifetime, creating from my heart and allowing time for each piece to develop, bringing out its own character and soul. What I wanted was to get away from today’s crazy consumerism and throw away society and to educate people about the value of handcraft – not just leather, but all craft.

I am just as passionate today, if not more, about these values however ‘Keeping the Old Skills Alive’ means so much more to me now than just handcrafted leather. Now there is a ‘bigger picture’ for me and, I guess, less fear about putting myself out there, doing other things – such as Rune readings, and whatever else comes my way.

Hello and welcome to my shop - a place where you will find handmade quality leather crafted items inspired by Viking, Celtic and Medieval cultures, as well as the services I offer as a Rune reader.

All my products are one of a kind.

My art and readings are my passion and my way of living. My heart and soul goes into each piece I make and I take time to create the highest quality product I possibly can. Like good wine, my leatherwork pieces only get better with time. The character and life will intensify and, looked after, will last for many years to come.

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns
Contact me within: 7 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 14 days of delivery
I don't accept exchanges or cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
STOCK ITEMS

All my products are handmade. I take time and care to produce the highest quality possible. In some cases inconsistencies may occur. I feel that these only add to the character and soul of the product however, if you are not happy with the product, please contact me immediately upon receiving it and I will discuss the options with you.

No refunds are given for a change of mind.

CUSTOM ORDERS

DAMAGES

All orders are packaged in bubble wrap and, depending on the item, either in a box or a padded bag. I take extreme precautions to ensure that all products are packaged securely to avoid damage. Once the order has been placed into the postal system, it is out of my control. Therefore I am not to be held accountable for any damage that may occur during transit.

LOSSES
------------
Please ensure that your address is correct when placing an order.

All orders are sent with a signature required upon delivery. In the unlikely event that an order does go astray, I will do all I can to track it down through Australia Post, however I am not to be held accountable for its loss.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

Payment
Payment will be gladly accepted via PayPal or Bank Transfer.

Your order will be posted as soon as funds have been received.

Cancellations are only accepted within 24 hours of placing the order, as long as I have not already posted it. In this instance, you will be refunded immediately. Any fees relating to Etsy or PayPal will be deducted from your refund.

All orders are posted using Australia Post.

WITHIN AUSTRALIA

Parcels will be sent with signature required upon delivery. If you would like to be able to track your item or have it insured, please let me know at the time of placing your order so that I can provide you with the additional costs.

OVERSEAS

Parcels will be sent via "Pack and Track". This means that you are able to track your item along the way. I will provide you with the tracking number as soon as it has been posted. If you would like to have your parcel insured, please let me know at the time of placing your order so that I can provide you with the additional costs.

All parcels will have a customs declaration form attached. These will be marked as merchandise. Any additional charges that may occur upon entry into the country in which the buyer resides are the responsibility of the purchaser.
