About TheInkHouse
The Ink House, a little shop on the corner of the web...
... Trying to think of a name that suited my little business wasn't easy. I have always had an absolute fascination with old, historical, decaying buildings & houses, each one with their own stories to tell. So I went with a name that best described my illustration work and medium at the time, and so the "The Ink House" was born.
It's been many years now since I first started drawing buildings and houses with my black ink pens, but the desire to draw little houses hasn't ceased!
Art has always been a massive part of my life from a very early age, so after high school I studied Graphic Design at university. What followed was a career in the graphic design and illustration, predominately - stationery, paper party, greeting cards and gift wrap.
In 2011 I left my role as a senior designer to start my family. I am now lucky to be mum to two adorable girls. Aside being a Mum, I work as a freelance Illustrator and Designer from my home studio. I have worked in many different areas - home decor, children's products/toys, wedding/party stationery, branding, packaging, book illustrations - to name a few. In 2016, I will be venturing into other new areas and exciting projects.
The Ink House is still a reflection of my interests and where I am in my life right now. I currently sell Nursery and Children's wall art prints of my original illustrations.
I print and package all my own products using archival quality paper stock and inks, and take the upmost care in making sure I deliver a quality product in perfect condition.
Hopefully I will find more time to keep adding to my little shop, and it will continue to be a fun, creative outlet for me. I am forever grateful to my wonderful customers for allowing me to do what I love to do!
Cheers,
Liz @ The Ink House :D
