Det är inget fel med det ... det är bara inte vad jag ville skapa. Jag ville skapa något annorlunda.
Very Still Creatures föddes ur idén att dessa otroliga djur kan behandlas som konstverk, framhävda av vackra ramar och kompletterande passepartouter. Varje verk är tillverkat med avsikt. Placerat, bevarat och visat i en handplockad vintage- eller specialram med individuellt skurna passepartouter och noggrant utvalda material. Jag lägger ner mycket mer tid på presentationen än nödvändigt – och jag är helt okej med det.
Varje exemplar är unikt. Ramen, färgerna, texturerna och kompositionen är valda för att komplettera själva varelsen, inte en mall. Målet är inte bara att visa upp en skalbagge eller en mal; det är att skapa något unikt och helt fantastiskt. Något som startar en konversation och väcker förundran.
Alla våra insekter kommer från etiskt hållbara leverantörer och samlare runt om i världen. När de anländer återfuktas varje exemplar noggrant, placeras för hand, torkas, konserveras och ramas in. Det är en långsam process, men otroligt tillfredsställande om du gillar att fördjupa dig i detaljerna i ett hantverk.
Vid sidan av inramade insekter hittar du också bevarade kuriositeter, kuriosa, begränsade samlingar och enstaka experiment som lät som en bra idé klockan 23:30 på kvällen.

Very Still Creatures was born from the idea that these incredible animals can be treated like works of art, elevated by gorgeous frames and complimentary mats. Every piece is made with intention. Positioned, preserved, and displayed in a hand-selected vintage or custom frame with individually cut matting and thoughtfully chosen materials. I spend far more time on the presentation than is necessary - and I'm totally cool with that.
Every specimen is different. The frame, the colors, the textures, and the composition are chosen to complement the creature itself, not a cookie cutter design. The goal isn't simply to display a beetle or a moth; it's to create something unique and absolutely stunning. Something that starts a conversation and incites wonder.
All of our insects are sourced ethically from sustainable suppliers and collectors around the world. Once they arrive, each specimen is carefully rehydrated, positioned by hand, dried, preserved, and framed. It's a slow process, but incredibly satisfying if you enjoy getting into the details of a craft.
