Artist, Bonny Hut, with some of her oil paintings.

My name is Bonny Hut.

I was born and raised in South Africa where I studied Fine Art at Durban's University of Technology and Graphic Design at Durban's Central Technical College. To be very honest with you, I initially failed painting several times at University because my work could not fit within the boundaries of the "status quo". Most of the "top" students at the time were painting in a more abstract or "contemporary" style . I really do like the work of some abstract artists, but it just was not me.

I also personally found that "skill" in painting is often not a revered aspect of art at some of the contemporary tertiary art institutions. I eventually opened up my own art school in Melbourne, Australia where teaching students how to paint "skillfully" and "in their own voice" was a priority, even if they were doing abstract work.

I have also produced and edited art related films for local, Melbourne Television. Links to most of these films can now be found on my website.

I have always been deeply interested in "anything strange" (as long as it has integrity - "Do What Thy Wilt - BUT HARM THEE NONE ! " ) (Not Crowley's version.) I have done a great amount of investigation and research into various aspects of "the system", the Extraterrestrial coverup, the paranormal, quantum physics, spirituality in general, psychology, sociology and other subjects that would help me to become a better person and to help me to understand people and the world around me. Many of these journeys are reflected in my art. I have over 60 selected oil paintings currently on my website.

I am currently busy painting the "Pagan Sabbats." I have celebrated the "Wheel of the year" and the "Sabbats" many, many times since 2002 and am using my memories / experiences and feelings I have about each Sabbat as an inspiration for each painting. I feel that if people tune more into the cycles of nature they will feel more grounded, less lost and awaken a part of themselves.

I decided to open this Etsy store to help support and share my work.
