About me, Silva Ware by Walter Silva
Originally, I opened up my shop as another avenue for my illustration work. I have worked as an assistant to some successful artist(s) and once worked for a BIG toy maker and a Children's gift-ware company. But, I always felt unsatisfied making something / design(s) for someone else. Etsy has enabled me to take charge of what I want to make, Have my own voice.
My shop is not limited to just items for kids though... My passion for European illustrators, Mexican Folk Art, Grids, Quilt patterns, and Vintage toys are what fuel my ideas. I also love making mature Art for adults, Like Collages, Day of the Dead Dead items and Sculptures!
My love for Art, since I can remember stems from my fascination with Vintage Fisher Price Pull Toys? The Illustrations prints mounted onto those wood substrates are a delight to the eye! My collection makes me smile... I suspect this fascination is what inspired me to illustrate and decoupage.
I have created many Home Decor Products and DIY tutorials for many blogs, including Decor Hacks, Mod Podge Rocks Blog and my own blog. See some of my tutorials in THE BIG BOOK OF MOD PODGE, published by Lark crafts, June 2015! I truly enjoy transforming the ordinary into extraordinary quality products using decoupage techniques.
